Determine the lifestyle you wish to have.

  1. Where do you want to live?

  2. What type of a home do you want?

  3. How much leisure time do you wish to have?

  4. What type of car?

  5. When do you wish to retire?

  6. Children/how many?

  7. etc.

Actions to be taken: See how much these things cost now!! If you are still in High School, adjust the costs up for inflation three percent a year + or - (current rates will be posted later). The point is to add these things up and compare it to the potential earnings you will have on your present path, perhaps you need to adjust it? Perhaps you need to take school & education more seriously? You may be on target, if so you are one of the few... congratulations (keep up the good work)!
